In the forecourt area of the theatre are the renowned impressions of foot and hand prints from celebrated Hollywood stars going back to the beginning of film history. With the 2013 IMAX installation, the TCL Chinese Theatre has grown to being one of the largest movie screens in America with theatre seating for almost 1,000 viewers. On top of all that, the theatre is positions along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so the exciting atmosphere never lets up. If visiting Hollywood, this is the place to take in a movie. Enjoy.
We'll begin the tour with a peek at how the other half lives by visiting the homes of some movie stars. Then we'll head over to the exclusive city of Beverly Hills where the iconic city sign is just the beginning. We'll view more impressive "Homes of Stars" here in Beverly Hills and Bel Air. Santa Monica, Venice, and Marina Del Rey
If your interest turns toward the Southern California lifestyle we'll set you up on a trip to the beach. Along the coast you'll find other world travelers mixing with the native beach dwellers at the hip and edgy waterfront village of Santa Monica. Health food restaurants, high-end shopping, counterculture purveyors of existential consciousness all share the space as the community communes to a higher vibration of life. (Hey, it's a fun place to visit.) The Santa Monica Pier - Pacific Park, is a sight to behold and the Third Street Promenade isn't far. Just south we find Venice and the subtle warping of California made famous by Jim Morrison and The Doors. It's all still here; Muscle Beach, Tattoo parlors, the food and the crowds. If there is any "South Pacific" vibe in LA it's just a little further south in Marina Del Rey. Here you can lounge on an outdoor patio, dine, and watch the sunset. And that might be the perfect ending to a perfect day if you like sailing. "Del Rey" is just the spot to hop on board a whale watching boat, go day fishing, or a pleasure sail. All that is here.
The Los Angeles area is oh so alive with activities, shopping, dining, museums, entertainment, nightlife, and the list goes on. We know this list well.
Southern California is a vast landscape of societal hotspots, history, and natural beauty. Heading south from LA it's not too far before Orange County mades a big impression. Coastal living thrives in "the OC"; boating, fishing, surf and sun. It's all here. And while the Spanish explored and settled in California, Mexican culture soon arrived, shortly to be followed by a uniquely Californian vibe. The cool part is that many of the contributions each earlier culture made are still in place and Orange County is no exception to this So Cal rule of thumb. You probably know Disneyland is in Orange County but how about artist colonies from the early 1900s? How about wildlife habitats? Thriving nightlife, mariachis, fusion cuisine, and business centers; work hard/play hard and most importantly, show your guest a good time.
That's Orange County in a nutshell.
San Diego is a natural wonder from one end to the other. The natural harbor was the first landfall made by exploring Spaniards in the mid 1500s. There's mesa and canyons, even a fresh water river running into the ocean. The wilderness areas are many and well kept. For the city lovers there's a whole lot to do as well. From the early part of the 20th century San Diego has had strategic national defense import. This has resulted in a plethora of military bases and museums (USS Midway, Air and Space, and Flying Leathernecks among them). Convention centers, athletic venues, and amusement parks hit all the highlights for visitors of business and pleasure. There's the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, Legoland, and SeaWorld. But San Diego is also a town that does business (biotech, software, and telecomm to name a few). To top it all off, San Diego has history galore revealed in the rich tapestry of neighborhoods and city centers. Check out the Gaslamp District for Mardi Gras and music festivals and countless other community events. This little big city is fully stocked with museums of every type from railroad to modern art (don't forget Balboa Park).
